Introduction

     What does a stay at home Mom do when she feels like it is time to do something new, but still wants control over her time and contribute to the family income? Well, in this case, she starts a blog about books.

     A little history about myself. I am a proud mother of two highly intelligent, independent and beautiful daughters. My daughters are a 17 year old senior and a 9 year old third grader. I have had the tremendous opportunity to be a full time stay at home Mom for both of my children since my oldest was born. I know how fortunate I am to have been able to dedicate the last 18 years of my life to raising my children.

     Reading has always been a big part of my life. I love delving into a good book and getting so caught up in the story that the real world disappears and only the written world exists. I remember growing up and always being encouraged to have a book with me wherever I went. Long car rides and plane trips passed quickly with a good book. Reading while traveling also cuts down on sibling fighting and the classic question, “Are we there yet?”

     For much of the last 18 years, my reading has shifted from what I want to read for myself, to reading aloud what my children wanted to read. I am very pleased to say that I enjoyed reading to and with my children as much or more than reading just for myself.

     Now that my youngest enjoys reading on her own, I have begun reading for myself again. It has been nice getting back to losing myself into written worlds. I have been catching up with past favorite characters authors and exploring new authors as well. Most of the new authors have come at the recommendation of my oldest. I am becoming an increasingly bigger fan of the young adult genre.

     I am writing this blog to share my thoughts on and review the books that I have been enjoying. It usually takes me about a week to read a book.
